This variety was not reported as growing in the San Juan Islands, but genetic fingerprinting identified one living trees of Greensweet in an orchard on San Juan Island that was planted prior to 1894 (and scions are available through our annual scion exchange and grafting workshops on Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan).
It is a distinctly sweet green apple that keeps well.
