This large German apple was reported as growing in Isaac Sandwith's San Juan Island orchard in 1906, but has not yet been relocated as a living tree in the islands. It is a very large, red apple, the originated in Germany, where is is known as Roter Stettiner, before 1598. Big and beautiful, it has coarse flesh and is considered a cooking apple.
